THE SE professional lobster sector has voted strongly for the 2010-11 season to open as usual on October 1.
By a margin of 107-11, a forum of licence holders and supporters at Millicent on Wednesday morning called on Fisheries Minister Michael O’Brien to reverse his decision to delay the start of the 2009-10 season to November 1.

ROCK lobster fishers will have just six months to fish and a Total Allowable Commercial Catch of only 1250 tonnes in the southern zone in 2010-11.
