BUILDER John Fenton reluctantly complied with a Robe District Council order on Thursday and removed the new metal panels and timber beams which enclosed the rear verandah of historic Eltham House.
He is extremely disappointed that a compromise could not be reached which, in his view, would have allowed public access to the area and provided safety and comfort for his family.
